Martinis & Other Up Drinks

The Martini is the classic of classic cocktails, but there are many variations of the dry drink that, although not technically Martinis, are often referred to as such. To be technical about it these drinks are neat drinks, served in a cocktail, or martini, glass, but popular culture has deemed them all to be martinis. At any rate, these include some of the most popular up drinks, a few classics and a few more modern creations born out of the cocktail resurgence of the last few decades.

Tall Drinks

When you're looking for a tall glass of liquor with a lot of flavor, you'll often be offered one of these mixed drinks. Most of them are very easy to remember and the majority of bartenders will know how to make a good one. The best part about knowing your highballs is that you'll be able to find these drinks in almost any type of bar you walk into, from a swanky cocktail lounge to a sports pub and even a dive bar. Because there is more liquid and ice in highballs they are meant to be sipped slowly and enjoyed over a long period of time. Highballs are perfect with a meal or anytime you want a "watered down" drink.

On the Rocks

Some of the best-known drinks are lowballs, or those served on the rocks without the high volume mixers you find in highballs. Lowballs are mixed drinks that are mostly made of a mix of distilled spirits which are either shaken and strained over ice or built in the glass and stirred. You'll find these drinks are more alcoholic than highballs, but as the ice melts they are diluted to a perfect mixture. A few of these cocktails are also commonly shaken then strained into a cocktail glass for a neat, up alternative.

Tropical Drinks

Many tropical cocktails first became popular in the 1920's and 30's and are as famous today as they were then. It was during that time that Ernest Hemingway helped bring the Daiquiri out of the obscurity of Havana bars and Don the Beachcomber and Trader Vic opened up their first tiki bars which were to become great hits. Rum is the dominant spirit of most tropical cocktails, but tequila and vodka are also found in some of the favorites. Tropical cocktails typically have a mix of sweet and sour flavors and include almost any fruit you could think of.

Hot Cocktails

As the winter winds begin to blow the tastes of many drinkers change and the chilled cocktails just won't do. Thank goodness there are plenty of hot cocktails that can warm you up from the inside out. Almost any liquor can be added to coffee for a warm, spiked cup of java, and the list of "cafe" cocktails is almost endless. If coffee is not your cup of tea (so to speak) there are some other, much more classic, hot cocktails that might fit your tastes. Drinks like the Hot Buttered Rum, Hot Toddy and Tom and Jerry have long been favorite warm drinks and are requirements of many family's holiday traditions.

Ahh, the infamous shooters. What started with a shot of whiskey or tequila for a quick jolt of "reality" or to cure whatever might ail you has transformed into a long list of short shooters that come in any color and flavor possible. Bartenders have pulled out all the obscure liqueurs lying dormant in the wells to create many of these fun party drinks that are meant to get you buzzed really quick. Surprisingly, many shooters taste really good (while many are absolutely dreadful), it's just a shame that there's not enough time to enjoy the flavor combinations.

Tip 1 - For baby soft hands/feet: Apply lots of your normal body moisturizer to your feet and hands, be extra generous in between the toes. When you have a thick layer of cream all over your feet, slip on comfortable cotton socks on your feet and latex gloves on your hands. Leave gloves on for 1 hour. Leave socks on all night. The next morning your feet will feel like baby skin. Repeat once per week to maintain softness.

Tip 2 - Face wash/exfoliate: Step 1 of makeup essentials (use only if you don't have sensitive skin, ie, acne, acne scars, redness, rosacea). Mix a little water with brown sugar. Apply to face using circular movements, concentrating on nose and chin area. Rinse all sugar off with warm water. Pat your face dry.

Tip 3 - Dark circles: To minimize dark circles, apply a little orange (yes, orange!) lipstick to dark area, after your moisturizer. Make sure it is ONLY on the dark area, no where else. Apply makeup as usual.

Tip 4 - For whiter teeth and healthy gums: mix together 1 tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda (raising agent used for cooking) and 1 tablespoon mint toothpaste. Use as a mouthwash, DO NOT SWALLOW. This will disinfected your mouth and whiten teeth. If your teeth are very yelow or stained you might need a more effective treatment.

Tip 5 - Facials for oily skin: dissolve a teaspoon of baking yeast in a small amount of warm milk, wait until foamy, then apply to face. Leave 10 minutes and rinse with warm water.

Tip 6 - Facials for dehydrated skin: 1 cup of mixed mashed fruit, 2-3 tbsp double cream, 3 tsp cottage cheese, 1 tsp brown sugar, 4 tsp oatmeal powder. Blend all the ingredients together and apply on your face. Relax for ten minutes, and rinse off with warm water.

Tip 7 - Body Scrub: take some sea salt and mix it with warm water. Scrub your body using your hands. For stronger ex foliation use less water. Rinse off with warm water. Apply moisturizer. Your skin will feel baby soft with this makeup beauty tip!

Tip 8 - Quick Detox: Drink "warm" water with squeezed lemon, half a lemon per glass. Aim for 8 glasses per day for 1 week. This will give you a quick but effective detox and your skin will look and feel healthier. Permanently switching to warm water is one of the great makeup beauty tips you can follow.
Tip 9 - Oily Hair: women who have oily hair know what a pain it can be. The more you wash your hair, the oilier it becomes! Nightmare. Here's a quick tip for the "second" day of unwashed hair. Use talcum power! Rub some powder between your fingers and run through your roots. Watch the oil disappear instantly, reapply as needed. It's the miracle solution! Even brunettes can use white talcum power, no prob!

Common makeup mistakes, Mistakes made during makeup Indian woman, Do’s and Dont's of makeup, Right Makeup Skill, Correct Makeup Skills, Blunders made during makeup Indian female

1. The first mistake happens before you even apply your party makeup and it's called "the rush"! Going out in a club can be a very exciting and interesting adventure which can even change your life for good. It can happen that you meet the love of your life or new wonderful friends. But it can also mean that nobody notices you. You just don't stand out from the crowd. Many times I hear complaints from girls that they are never noticed in the club parties. So it is VERY important that you don't rush with your makeup. Take your time, it's YOUR party makeup we are talking about here. As a professional makeup artist I never rush, I always take as much time as I need, unless there are of course different circumstances. Even I make mistakes when I'm not focused.

2. Some girls forget to wash their face with cold water and apply moisturizing lotion before the makeup. It is very important that you wash your face with cold water because this will stimulate the blood circulation in your skin, which makes it ready for the makeup. Also applying moisturizing lotion is important because your makeup will last longer. Don't forget to apply the lotion massaging it into the skin, again, because of the blood circulation. This will perfectly prepare your skin for your upcoming party makeup.

3. After the lotion, don't immediately apply the foundation. If you have skin problems like pimples or acne you should know that applying concealer for party makeup takes it's place BEFORE the foundation. For party makeup you have to choose the green colored concealer. If you don't have one, then skip this routine and apply the concealer close to your foundation tone AFTER the foundation application. But if you do have the green concealer, apply it directly on the problematic portions of your skin. Watch out how much material you apply, don't apply too much because this will be noticeable later and also will be greatly noticeable on the photos.

4. Next big mistake happens when choosing the foundation color. Sometimes girls chose darker foundation than their skin tone. For party makeup it is very important that you choose foundation that is little lighter than your skin tone. Specially if there are strong ultra violet lights in the club, your face could look very dark, and it would mean a disaster if you choose darker foundation.

5. Now the foundation application. If you applied the green concealer, never rush with your foundation. Don't make a mistake by applying your foundation in left and right motions, because it will totally ruin your party makeup. You will displace the concealer you applied before. It's time to apply foundation with wet sponge. Apply it on the sponge. Now you press the sponge on a single spot and move it just very little to one side. This is how you apply the foundation. Just repeat the process. It is time consuming but it is well worth the effort. You won't displace your concealer which is under your foundation and your party makeup will look gorgeous.

6. Choosing strong eyeshadow or lipstick colors is very important. Girls do complain that their party makeup doesn't look much different than their usual daily makeup. It is because they usually choose too light and soft colors. For clubs and parties you have to choose strong colors. Just one caution. Don't make your eyeshadows and lipstick colors to clash. If they both are too strong, the makeup can look artificial. There are however exceptions where both colors can be strong and still look gorgeous.

7. Don't forget to lighten the area under your eyes if you have dark circles. You can use white eyeshadow for this, just watch you don't apply to much of it. Or you can use lighter concealer.

8. Big mistake, to make! No darker blush colors compared to your lipstick color, please! Only once I did this mistake. I applied darker blush than the lipstick color was and the girl looked like someone hit her on her face. This can totally ruin everything. Go easy on blush!

9. Don't be afraid to use sparkles, it is very cool for parties, so you can become the star of the night!

10. Did you notice that your face glows very bright, on the photos, compared to your body? This is another big thing girls usually don't know why it's happening. Because the foundation and concealer reflect the light from flashes, your face glows on the photos while your body absorbs the light. Put some foundation and sparkles on your upper body, like shoulders and cleavage, if they are visible of course. This way your body will also reflect the light, you will reach brightness balance and look truly gorgeous on the photos.

11. Watch that you don't make a line on your neck, with your foundation. Take your time and make good blending with your neck tone. If you need, use pressed powder which will help you hide the line.

12. No use of pressed powder foundation. Girls always ask why their faces glow so much on the photos. This is different than the glow I explained before. The one I was talking about earlier is just the difference between face and body brightness. But this is when your face just glows way too much on photos. It happens if you don't apply pressed powder foundation. For party makeup you must use it. It makes your face absorb some portion of the light. Apply it the same way you applied the foundation, just with a dry sponge instead. And remember that you have to apply your pressed powder foundation before the lipstick. The lipstick is the last thing you put on yourself. You can also apply little of this foundation on your body, it looks great there.

13. The last big mistake girls do is when they apply their lipstick. Your lips are your poisonous weapon you can use to seduce your targets. So that's why you have to calibrate this weapon to hit the target. Girls usually forget that lips have these natural pores which must be visible to look natural. Putting too much lipstick on your lips will even out the pores and make them invisible. This causes unnatural and plastic look of your lips, which totally ruins your party makeup. Other people get an impression that you just put too much of your makeup on and that it doesn't look cool. I will tell you how to make your lips totally sexy and seducing that nobody can resist. Chose your color and apply your lipstick. Blot your lips with a tissue paper after the application of lipstick, to remove the unnecessary material. Now that you have your lipstick on and the pores visible put a crystal clear lipgloss on your lips. This will totally make your lips go "kiss me"! That's it! Based on my personal research, these are the 13 most common mistakes girls make to ruin their party night. Follow my advice and you will become the star of the night!

Skin care during monsoon, Top tips for skin care for monsoon, All type skin care indian woman, female, girls for rainy season, wet weathe

Dos and Dont's during Monsoon

1 Stay dry: Bacteria and fungus easily get transmitted through dirty water, and multiply in wet and warm environment. Scrub the feet every few days, and keep them dry. Use anti-fungal powder like adsorb or mycoderm if your feet get wet.

2 Exfoliate regularly: Pores get clogged easily in wet warm conditions, so scrub regularly. Also, use a toner to close the pores and balance your skin’s pH. Avoid creamy moisturisers and minimise makeup. If necessary, only use water-proof cosmetics.

3 Product wise: Stick to skin care products suggested and approved by the dermatologist. You can also mix egg with olive oil or honey for smooth skin.

4 What to avoid: Watermelon and musk melon are too watery for this season. Instead, eat less juicy fruits like mangoes, apples, pomegranates and pears. Add some garlic to stir fries, soups and curries to build up immunity this monsoon.
5 Keep it clean: For oily skin, use an anti-bacterial soap for general baths. Also, go for a soap-free face-wash, and clean your face with pure drinking water every time you come from outside.

Quick make up tips, makeup during day Indian woman, make up during night Indian woman, makeup for dark skin, make up for fair skin, make up for wedding, makeup for bride, makeup for summer, for dry skin

 Makeup For Day
  1. Apply a fluid foundation with your fingertips and blend around jaw line.
  2. Press powder into your skin with puff, and brush off excess with a brush. This gives your makeup the staying power it needs for a whole day.
  3. Use a squirt of eye drops in the morning, to instantly brighten your sleepy eyes. Did you also know that eye drops applied over a pimple before you makeup reduces the redness instantly?
  4. Use a powder shadow smeared along your lash lines with soft sponge applicator for a soft, but defined day look.
  5. Apply one coat of lashing-plumping mascara.
  6. Brush your eyebrows into shape, and use a soft pencil to quickly define them if needed.
  7. Smile big and apply your blusher to the fattest part of your cheek with a big brush, slightly and lightly extending the color towards your ear. Go easy, you don't want clown cheeks. Choosing a sheer color with light reflecting particles will help avoid this.
  8. Apply one coat of colored lip gloss for soft, natural lips with a healthy shine.
  9. If you've run out of your usual concealer, use some of the dried up foundation in the bottom of the bottle, it covers up and matches your foundation perfectly. Remember, if you make a make-up mistake and your time is of the essence, just dip a cotton bud in your liquid foundation and wipe away the mistake.
  10. If your hair is a wreck then try holding your head upside down and brushing vigorously. Apply a dollop of hair wax rubbed between palms and loosely pull back hair and fasten with your favorite clips.

Makeup For Night Time/ Night Paty

1. More foundation and powder is acceptable to cover less than perfect skin.

2. Use bronzer generously to give your skin a glow. This adds dimension and prevents wash out from the flash.

3. Everything should be more defined - lips, eyes, cheekbones.

4. Shimmery eye shadow photographs best this time of day but no frosts. One of the three shades needs to be matte.

5. Seriously consider false eyelashes. This brings more definition to the lash line to compete with the flash.

6. The Smoky eye is perfect for the evening bride.

7. Lip color and powder are essential at all times.

Quick Make up in 10 minutes

For complete makeup a makeup-passionate person should have the following makeup products, foundation, lip brushes, lipstick, lip liners, eye liners, lip gloss, eyebrow color, blushers and moisturizers. These cosmetics are considered basic elements for a complete makeup. These should be purchased from a good and tested cosmetics manufacturer and should also be tested for allergies or side effects. Sometime use of low quality cosmetics can cause damage to skin. For a complete makeup there are certain basic steps that need to be followed. These steps are essential and are widely followed in most cultures.

Before going to a party, dinner or some other place a woman should look beautiful. Following these steps will provide a complete makeup. People having a dry skin should use a moisturizer while people who have oily skin should wash their skin first and then start with the foundation. The second step is the application of foundation. Choose and apply the foundation that best matches your skin tone to portray the perfect and precise effect. Use blushers to add a fresh look to your skin. The eyebrows should be plucked to portray sharpness of the beauty of an eye. The eye liners and eye shadows should be carefully used. Also the eye shadow should match the color of the dress. A mismatch may portray a dull look on the skin. Use lipstick that best matches the dress and also use a lip gloss to provide a sharper look and beauty to the lips. All of these steps if followed properly can help a woman transform into a princess. A famous person said "It's the beauty that captures your attention; personality which captures your heart."
